In an interview, a young girl asked Dimple “So, when did u know, that Ayurveda is your calling…?’ I didn’t. Never knew, it was Ayurveda. But during my many travels, I had these amazing road trips to Rajasthan and Gujarat. I was on the highway and stopped to take pictures with a flock of 500 odd sheep along with this shepherd. The contentment and happiness I felt and saw on the face of this gentleman were amazing. It’s at this moment in this picture, I had one of my epiphanies…
I was on a years’ sabbatical from investment banking; traveling (mostly solo) to 10 countries in 11 months… the 11th country I did, was India. Like a tourist; I saw it with a new perspective, and was blown away by how I felt. I was on my way from Rajasthan to Gujarat by road, which I was strongly advised against, as a single girl. I took a car and driver, and went down the highway, stopping at roadside cafes, where truck drivers and villagers, gathered in community meals. I received special treatment and extra care from all strangers. I stopped my car to skip amidst these 100s of sheep that were heading towards the setting sun. The shepherd and I spoke briefly. He had a surreal unconditional smile on his face. I asked him, “Are you content with life?” He said “Why not. I have good work, the sun, clean air, and I am going home for dinner now.”
Happiness was so simple and so easy, without condition, without reason, without a necessary romantic explanation, or theory. It was just …. Happiness. I had a silly plan right then, right there. I decided “I am going to sell happiness in my new venture… I will sell happiness in a bottle, and I'll be a multi-millionaire.”
I shared my business idea with my cousin brother, and he said, why not? I continued traveling to a few more cities — Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala.. experimenting with surfing, kalarippayattu, visiting ancient temple ruins, and animal farms with my Grandpa. I went where the wind blew. A friend advised me to visit Kerala. I immediately bought impromptu plane tickets, arrived at Kochi and traveled alone by road for 4 days.. and discovered Ayurveda for myself. Never before did I imagine or plan for Ayurveda to be part of my life or career. Grateful I did.
Today, I am indeed a millionaire with the countless messages, we receive every single day @pranabydimplejangda. Messages of love, gratitude, & genuine happiness. Pay us in kindness. It's the rarest and the most precious currency !”
Dimple wanted to be in the business of happiness… something which would give immense joy and happiness to people. When you enjoy the goodness of life and what the universe has to offer you, you are automatically happy.
When she came across Ayurveda clinics that are already present, she saw that very few people would take interest in it. The reason behind it might be the gap between the thought processes. There was a language gap, communication gap, lifestyle gap, and a whole lot of myths and stereotypes associated with this science. There is a generation gap between the way Ayurveda is practiced now and the way it was practiced in the earlier days. There was a gap in people understanding Ayurveda itself. This is when she started her own Ayurveda clinic.
In Ayurveda Panchatantra treatment, it tells people to detox their bodies to throw away the toxins present in the body. But a person has 3 meals a day and there is an accumulation of a lot of toxins in the body that are difficult to flush out. So Dimple started telling her patients to eat in the right way so that they do not get sick in the first place. So she prepares a diet chart and provides them with whatever Ayurveda medicine or treatment they require.
Most skincare products that are present in the world are filled with chemicals. She launched Ayurveda skin care products to help people and solve their problems. She even launched homemade remedies to cure skin as well as keep them healthy.
She presents some really cool home remedies one can try to get soft and healthy skin. Her simple three-step lip care regime includes massage, exfoliate and moisturize. Massage by applying a drop of cold-pressed organic oil, olive oil or hemp oil. The next step is to exfoliate the dead skin cells from your lips. Take a bowl of white sugar and use that to scrub your lips gently to exfoliate. Alternatively, you can use a soft-bristle toothbrush too. Moisturizing is an important step. Cocoa butter, desi ghee, shea butter, vitamin E capsule are some examples that help in moisturizing your lips. Whenever you use heavy makeup or lipstick, make sure you remove your makeup before sleeping. Diet too plays an important role when it comes to our skin. Staying hydrated is equally important for healthy skin.
